How many credits do you need?
Describe a typical month. Analyses happen when you upload or re-analyze; exports are each dataset you generate.

What is a credit?
The unit everything in Ground is priced in. Exporting 1,000 rows uses 1 credit. Work Claude does (designing or refining a dataset, and writing text such as notes, messages and descriptions) uses credits by what it costs, and AI text costs half as much in batch mode. Analyzing an upload uses 5 credits for up to 100 MB, plus 1 per extra 100 MB.
When are credits charged?
When a design, preview with AI text, export or analysis starts; Ground shows the estimate before you run it. If it fails, the credits come back; if you cancel an export, you get back the share of rows it didn't produce.
Do unused credits roll over?
Your plan's monthly credits reset on the 1st (UTC) and don't roll over. Credits you buy are used after the monthly allowance and stay valid for 12 months.
What doesn't use credits?
Previews without AI-written text, the quality and privacy report, Spot the synthetic, the data card, and re-downloading a finished export.
Can my team share credits?
Each member uses their own credits, including when they export a dataset shared with the organization. Enterprise plans can pool credits for a whole organization.
Can we run Ground in our own cloud?
Yes, on Enterprise: Ground ships as containers with Postgres and any S3-compatible storage, and doesn't need to call out except to Claude for AI-written text.
