Terms of service

These terms govern your use of Ground (the "Service"), provided by [legal entity name, address] ("we"). By creating an account you agree to them on behalf of yourself or the organization you represent.

1. Your data

  • You keep all rights to data you upload ("Customer Data") and to the synthetic data the Service generates for you ("Output").
  • You grant us only the rights needed to run the Service for you: storing, analyzing and generating from Customer Data. We do not use Customer Data or Output to train AI models, and we do not sell it.
  • You are responsible for having the right to upload Customer Data, including any consents or legal bases required for personal data.
  • Raw uploads are deleted after the retention period shown in the app (30 days by default) or when you delete them. Learned models and reports stay until you delete the dataset or your account.

2. Personal and regulated data

Where Customer Data includes personal data, our privacy policy and Data Processing Addendum apply. Protected health information may only be uploaded under a signed Business Associate Agreement. [Confirm availability of DPA and BAA.]

3. Synthetic data and privacy

The Service replaces detected personal data, prevents reproduction of rare real records and, when you choose it, applies differential privacy with the budget you set. These controls reduce re-identification risk but cannot eliminate it for every dataset; the quality and privacy report describes the tests run on each dataset. You decide whether Output is suitable for your use, sharing or publication.

4. Acceptable use

  • No uploading data you are not permitted to process, malware, or content that is unlawful.
  • No using Output to impersonate real people, to defraud, or to circumvent another party's privacy rights.
  • No attempts to access other customers' data, to probe our infrastructure without written permission, or to overload the Service.

5. Accounts, plans and fees

Plans, their monthly credits and the price of extra credits are listed on the pricing page. Monthly credits reset each month; purchased credits are valid for 12 months and are not refundable once used. Paid plans renew until cancelled from Account settings. You are responsible for activity under your account and API keys; keep credentials secret and revoke keys you no longer use.

6. Availability and changes

We aim for high availability and publish live status at /status. We may change the Service and will give notice of material adverse changes to paid plans.

7. Termination

You can delete your account at any time from Account settings, which deletes your data. We may suspend accounts that breach these terms, with notice where practical.

8. Warranties and liability

The Service is provided "as is" except as agreed in a signed agreement. To the extent permitted by law, our total liability is limited to the fees you paid in the 12 months before the claim. [Counsel to finalize.]
